About
At Summer Studio, we design furniture that invites stillness and simplicity into everyday life. Our philosophy is grounded in creating spaces that reflect calm, balance, and thoughtful design.
From the first sketch to the final form, every piece is shaped by visual clarity, functional purpose, and distinctive character. Our process is deliberate and precise—every joint, curve, and surface is considered. Craftsmanship is the foundation.
Jack Sasaki – Founder
Jack Sasaki’s creative journey began in Tokyo, where the city’s layered architecture and cultural richness shaped his early artistic sensibility. He refined his design approach with a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, later complementing it with an MBA from UCLA to pair creative vision with business acumen.
Jack first built a career in high-end residential development, blending imagination with structure. Over time, he felt drawn to the tactile language of craft, dedicating more than a decade to woodworking and exploring furniture as a medium where design becomes intimately human.
His work reflects a belief that furniture can be both functional and expressive—living at the intersection of design, utility, and art. Defined by thoughtful simplicity, sculptural form, and a commitment to lasting quality, Jack’s pieces embody a dialogue between craftsmanship and contemporary design.
